Concert-goers are encouraged to bring blankets and chairs but advised against larger items. With free parking and complimentary trolley service, it promises to be a wonderful community event celebrating summer nights.

Yorktown is set to launch its annual Sounds of Summer Concert Series on May 22, 2025. This popular event will occur every Thursday evening from 6:30 PM to 9 PM at Riverwalk Landing, culminating in a final performance on August 14, 2025. Notably, there will be no concert on July 3, allowing attendees to celebrate the Independence Day weekend without interruption.

The concert series will kick off with an opening act by BrassWind, marking the 20th Anniversary of Riverwalk Landing. A diverse lineup of performances is scheduled, featuring music across various genres such as rock-n-roll, R&B, pop, beach, and country. Residents and visitors alike are encouraged to come early to enjoy dinner or dessert from the waterfront restaurants that characterize Historic Yorktown.

The events are designed to be family-friendly and community-oriented, bringing residents together for evenings of entertainment. Attendees will find various amenities at the Riverwalk Landing, including a dance floor, corn hole games, and a selection of food trucks offering a range of culinary choices.

For those planning to attend, it is important to note that while guests are welcome to bring their own blankets, chairs, and small coolers, larger items such as tables, umbrellas, or tents are not permitted to ensure a comfortable environment for all concertgoers. Additionally, individuals may bring their own alcohol, which must be consumed within the designated ABC area.

Parking is made convenient for visitors with free facilities at several locations including the Riverwalk Landing Parking Terrace, York Hall, York-Poquoson Courthouse, and the County Administration Building, along with other designated public parking lots. Complementing these arrangements is the Yorktown Trolley, which offers free and wheelchair-accessible transportation running until 9:30 PM for every concert. This trolley will follow a modified route with stops on the outskirts of town, further simplifying access to the event.

As with any outdoor events, updates regarding inclement weather will be readily available. Attendees can check the status of concerts through the official York County Event Weather Hotline at 757-890-3520, along with posts on Facebook and Instagram.

The Yorktown Sounds of Summer concert series has become a staple of the local community, providing a joyful atmosphere where families and friends can gather, enjoy great music, and partake in the festive summer vibe. As the series approaches, excitement builds for the line-up and the sense of community that these summer nights bring.

With its vibrant atmosphere and diverse musical offerings, the Sounds of Summer Concert Series promises to be an event that highlights the best of Yorktown, encouraging participation from all ages and fostering a spirit of togetherness throughout the summer months.
