Williamsburg Welcomes Exciting New Golf Course and Event Lineup This Spring

This spring, Williamsburg is set to unveil The Shoe, a new 9-hole par-3 golf course designed by renowned architect Rees Jones. With aspirations to rank among the top short courses in the nation, The Shoe aims to deliver an exceptional golfing experience. Exclusive Charter Memberships for The Shoe are currently available, offering benefits such as preferred tee times, special events, and access to a newly constructed 14,000 sq. ft. putting course.

In addition to the golf course, the community can look forward to a variety of vibrant local events throughout the month of April. A notable highlight is an Evening of Dance concert featuring the Orchesis Modern Dance Company, scheduled from April 3-7. This event will showcase original choreography created by talented students.

Event planners can explore potential venue options at a special showcase hosted by Legacy Hall on April 6, designed to assist those searching for ideal event spaces. Following this, on April 12, the popular Yorktown Market Days will launch a special Saturday market, featuring seasonal produce, baked goods, crafts, and activities for children.

Further enriching the local atmosphere, the Lighting of the Cressets event will return on April 12 and 26, transforming the streets with enchanting 18th-century themed lighting. On April 13, a downtown Williamsburg event will invite attendees to enjoy food, shopping, and live music, celebrating the unique offerings of the community.

Shoppers can also take advantage of the annual Spring Sidewalk Sale on April 25 and 27, during which discounts of 25%-75% on selected merchandise will be available. This sale is a great opportunity to discover local deals while supporting neighborhood businesses.

Art enthusiasts will have the chance to view fresh talent as the Williamsburg Artist Group showcases new fine art from 20 artists at the Bruton Parish House on April 11-12. Additionally, a themed French Market on April 19 promises traditional products and live music, expanding the offerings available at local farmers markets.

The excitement continues with a Pirate Weekend on April 26 and 27 at the Yorktown Market Days, featuring pirate-themed activities alongside local produce. Families with young children can participate in a free Easter Egg Hunt on April 13 at Walsingham Academy, designed for children aged 7 and younger.

Colonial Williamsburg is also preparing for Easter with a lineup of unique dining experiences and brunch menus, providing visitors and residents with a chance to enjoy a festive meal. In addition to local events, the National Park Service has designated six upcoming fee-free days in 2025, inviting the public to explore various natural spaces without entrance fees.

As the season progresses, Colonial Williamsburg will offer a ghost walk in October featuring authentic ghost stories from the 1700s, promising a captivating journey into the area’s history.

As Williamsburg welcomes the opening of The Shoe and an exciting series of events, the community is poised to experience a spring filled with recreational opportunities, cultural engagements, and a celebration of local heritage.
