Hey there, Williamsburg! Mark your calendars for an exciting local celebration that you won’t want to miss. The fifth annual Community Appreciation Day is returning this year, and it promises to be a fun-filled evening that showcases everything our vibrant city has to offer. This delightful event is set to take place on April 30, from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., on the lovely lawn of the Community Building located at 401 N. Boundary St..
This free celebration is all about recognizing and appreciating the hard work and dedication of everyone who makes Williamsburg such a welcoming place for residents, students, workers, and visitors alike. After the past couple of years, it’s time to come together once again, enjoy each other’s company, and revel in our shared community spirit.
So, what can you expect on this cheerful day? A whole lot of fun activities for everyone! Whether you’re young or young at heart, you’re bound to find something that tickles your fancy.
Brace yourself for some exciting lawn games! Who doesn’t love some good old-fashioned tug-of-war or frisbee? Plus, you can engage in board games that bring back childhood memories. And let’s not forget about the selfie station! Make sure to gather your friends and family to snap some Instagram-worthy pictures.
Kids and adults alike can immerse themselves in creative fun with craft projects too. The Williamsburg Regional Library will host a craft project where you can create your very own bookmarks. It’s the perfect way to get crafty while embracing your inner artist!
To set the mood for this festive evening, the local band Corduroy Street, made up of talented William & Mary students, will be performing live music from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.. So, get ready to tap your feet and hum along as you enjoy the lively atmosphere created by these talented young artists.
Feeling a bit peckish? No worries! Sno-to-Go will be handing out free sno-balls and ice cream while supplies last. There’s nothing better than indulging in some cool treats during a sunny day, right?
As a highlight, attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a community art project, which has been endorsed by the Williamsburg Public Art Council. You’ll get to create flower ornaments using translucent paper, which will come together to form a stunning hanging garden. Keep an eye out, as the completed artwork will be displayed in the windows of the Stryker Center come May!
Remember, the best part about Community Appreciation Day is that it’s completely free and open to everyone in the community. So, whether you’re a long-time local or just visiting, gather your friends and family for an evening of laughter, creativity, and connection.
Let’s come together to celebrate our wonderful city and foster a sense of belonging! We can’t wait to see you all there. Williamsburg, let’s show our community spirit!
