The excitement was palpable as Old Dominion’s men’s tennis team took the court in a match against their long-standing rival, James Madison, as part of the TowneBank Royal Rivalry. Fans filled the stands, cheering on their team, and it didn’t take long for Old Dominion to showcase their skills and dominate the competition.
The match kicked off with the doubles competition, where the Old Dominion players were eager to set the tone early on. Competing in the No. 3 spot, Aryan Saleh and Thomas Nelson quickly got the crowd on its feet by overcoming Francisco Sinopoli and Harrison Lee with a convincing score of 6-2. Not far behind, the No. 2 duo, Zachary Fleishman and Edson Sanchez for James Madison, faced off against Adam Majchrzak and Jean-Karim Olivier de Sardan, but the Old Dominion players really started to shine through. They took that round with a solid score of 6-2 as well.

The last time James Madison had a victory was back on March 13, 2025, against UNC-Greensville. It’s clear they have some work ahead to turn the tide.
