The event featured various races against Temple University, where ODU displayed resilience despite tough competition. Highlights included a strong comeback in the 1V4+ race and impressive finishes from the 2V4+ and 3V4+ boats. With a break before the upcoming BIG 12 Championship, the team is set to focus on intra-squad races to sharpen their skills for future competitions.
In a fine display of athletic spirit and teamwork, the Old Dominion women’s rowing team took to the waters of the scenic Lafayette River in Norfolk, Virginia, this Saturday afternoon for their *Senior Day Regatta*. It was a special day not only for the athletes competing but also for families and friends cheering them on from the banks, marking a memorable event for everyone involved.
The day kicked off with ODU’s 1V8+ boat squaring off against two formidable 1V8+ boats from Temple University. Right from the start, Temple showed their strength, getting off the line swiftly and establishing a lead the ODU crew struggled to overcome. Despite their best efforts, ODU found it tough to gain any substantial advantage against the late-season speed that Temple had clearly harnessed. But let’s not get too down just yet!
