Bobby was born on February 10, 1965, in Norfolk, Virginia, to George and Elizabeth Smith. He is survived by his father, George (Dana) Smith, and his siblings: three brothers, David, Chris, and Jason, and one sister, Casey Woodall. Bobby was married to Carol Smith and is the proud father of two sons, Dylan (Madison) Smith and Harry Smith, as well as two daughters, Georgia (Cory) Hoar and Grace Smith. He also cherished his role as a grandfather to three grandchildren: Ellie Smith, Logan Smith, and Brooks Hoar. Bobby was preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth Ann Heflin.

As the owner of AB Pool Service, Bobby designed, constructed, and maintained swimming pools across Virginia and North Carolina. He was affectionately known as the “puddle expert” by his children, reflecting his passion and pride in his work. Friends described Bobby as a carefree person who enjoyed life on his own terms, embodying a spirit of adventure that inspired those around him.

Bobby had a profound love for sailing and could often be found spending time on his sailboat accompanied by his dog, Ally.
