LaFollette, Tennessee – Elizabeth Norton Sharp, a beloved member of the community, passed away on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at the age of 96. Her loved ones remember her for her dedication to family, her spiritual life, and her enthusiasm for sports, particularly her affection for the Atlanta Braves.
Elizabeth was an active member of the West LaFollette Baptist Church, where she contributed to the community with her caring spirit. She is survived by her daughter, Sara Hurt and her husband Michael from LaFollette; her son, Ken Sharp and his wife Patty from Williamsburg, Virginia. Additionally, her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Amanda Wilson and her husband Troy from Knoxville; Preston Sharp and his wife Maria Paula from Raleigh, North Carolina; Davin Sharp and his wife Rebecca from Florida; and Anthony Williamson from Tazewell. Her son-in-law, Fred Williamson from Speedwell, also survives her.
Elizabeth enjoyed a fulfilling life surrounded by a large family. She is also survived by several great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends, all of whom will remember her with great fondness.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at 10:15 AM at Martin Wilson Funeral Home. Following the visitation, a funeral procession will lead to Campbell Memorial Gardens, where a graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 AM, officiated by Rev. Sampson Ridenour. The family has entrusted Martin Wilson Funeral Home with the care of Elizabeth Norton Sharp.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by several cherished family members, including her husband, Kenneth Sharp; her daughter, Karen Williamson; and her parents, Robert and Sarah Overton Norton. Siblings who have also passed include brothers C.H. Norton and Virgil Norton, as well as her sister Helen Randolph.
Born and raised in a close-knit family, Elizabeth nurtured the values of community and togetherness throughout her life. Her passion for her family was complemented by her fondness for sports, particularly her team, the Atlanta Braves, reflecting her vibrant personality and interests.
