Known for her joyful spirit and compassionate nature, Cindy was a beloved figure among family, friends, and her community, leaving behind a legacy that will be remembered fondly.

Cindy was celebrated for her ability to spread joy and positivity to everyone she met. Her unique talent for making people feel recognized, cherished, and appreciated set her apart. Family and community members alike honored her commitment to quiet, random acts of kindness that made a powerful impact on those around her. Her vibrant personality was characterized by humor, love, and an unwavering spiritual light that touched many lives.

Early Life and Education

Born in Fort Walton Beach, Florida, Cindy was the daughter of SMSgt. Laurie and Evelyn Watson. Growing up in a military family, Cindy frequently moved, experiencing different cultures and environments, which contributed to her rich life experiences. One of her fondest childhood memories was growing up in Puerto Rico, where she developed a lifelong passion for collecting sea glass.

In the late 1960s, the family settled in the Peninsula area after her father’s transfer to Langley Field. Cindy graduated from Tabb High School, where she displayed a genuine talent for the arts. An artist at heart, she delighted in creative pursuits, including molding clay and searching for sea glass along the shores she loved.

Personal Life and Family

As a mother, Cindy found profound purpose and joy. Her husband, Thomas W. Meehan, and children, T. West Meehan, Jr. (Megan) and Katelyn Meehan (Oliver Swaby), were central to her life. Cindy’s love for her family was evident, and she took great pride and happiness in nurturing both her garden and her relationships.

In addition to her immediate family, Cindy is survived by her siblings: brothers Darren (Lori), Mitch (Connie), Michael (Vanessa), Larry (Jodie) Watson; and sister Vicki (Ricki) Rogers. She is also remembered fondly by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Cindy was predeceased by her parents, Laurie G. and Evelyn Watson.

The impact Cindy had on her community will be felt for years to come. Described by many as a radiant presence, she exemplified humility, spirituality, and a genuine love for others.
