Anne was born on October 27, 1934, in Williamsburg, and spent her life deeply embedded in the area’s rich history and culture. As a proud alumna of the College of William and Mary, Anne’s academic background contributed to her knowledgeable and respected presence in the community.

Her professional career was highlighted by her roles as an upper manager for the Lee Gift Shop and the Trimble Collection, where she was known for her leadership and commitment to her work. Outside of her professional life, Anne had a profound love for nature, gardening, and literature, often spending her leisure time walking or enjoying the beach. She shared many fond memories of crabbing and biking with her late husband, Edward E. Jones.

Anne’s faith and heritage were crucial to her identity. She was an active member of Bruton Parish Church and participated in several organizations, including the Daughters of the American Revolution, Colonial Dames, the United Daughters of the Confederacy, the Music Club, the Garden Club, and Williamsburg House Tours. Through these engagements, she made significant contributions to her community, building connections and fostering relationships with others.

Anne was preceded in death by her husband, Edward E. Jones, as well as her parents, Elizabeth and Allen Callis. She is survived by her two sons, Mark Jones and his wife Thao, and Michael Jones and his wife Melissa. Additionally, she is survived by her grandchildren, which include Emily and Sarah Jones of Charleston, Andrew Jones and his wife Sara of North Carolina, and Alex Jones and his wife Melanie of Texas. Anne also cherished her time with her great-grandchildren, William and Savannah of North Carolina.

Anne was known for her close friendship with Carolyn Vassos, which further attests to her warm character and the numerous relationships she fostered throughout her life. In honor of her passing, a private service will be held at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Williamsburg, VA, where she will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband, Edward.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Hospice House of Williamsburg, allowing Anne’s legacy of care and community support to continue. Anne Callis Jones will be remembered for her grace, warmth, and unwavering devotion to her family and community. Her influence and kindness will inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her.
