Williamsburg is mourning the loss of Patricia “Pat” Driscoll, a beloved bus driver for Williamsburg/James City County Public Schools, who passed away recently. Driscoll dedicated 26 years of her life to serving the community, and she cherished the children and families she transported, considering them members of her own family. Her passing leaves a significant void in the lives of her loved ones and the community she served.

Driscoll, a lifelong resident of Williamsburg, was not only known for her dedication to her job but also for her love of family. She hosted numerous family events that brought her relatives together, instilling a sense of belonging and connection among them. In her leisure time, she enjoyed reading and taking trips to West Virginia, which brought her much joy.

She leaves behind a large family, including her brother, John Bowden, as well as her children: son Frank Driscoll and his wife Kim; daughter Tammy McCormick and her husband Rory; son Kenny Driscoll and his wife Amy; and son Todd Driscoll. Driscoll was also a proud grandmother to Danielle Young and her husband Kevin; Briana Morris and her husband Justin; Courtney Thompson and her husband Mike; Abby McGuire and her husband Alex; Nick Driscoll and his fiancée Destiny; Bodie Driscoll; and Patrick Driscoll. Additionally, she had several great-grandchildren: Hunter Morris, Walker Young, Wyatt Thompson, Franklin McGuire, Palmer Young, Theo Driscoll, Phoebe McGuire, and Kenny Thompson. Driscoll also had two bonus grandchildren, Micah and Makenzie Newman, and she was fondly remembered by many loving nieces and nephews.

Pat Driscoll was preceded in death by her parents, John and Louise Bowden, her sister Teresa Bowden Savage, and her great-grandson, Coleman “Cole” Young, each of whom she held dear in her heart.

A service to honor her life will take place on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at 11:00 AM. The location will be Nelsen Funeral Home at 3785 Strawberry Plains Road, Williamsburg, VA 23188, where friends and family are welcome to pay their respects. A reception will follow the service, providing an opportunity for attendees to share their memories and celebrate the life of this remarkable woman.
