Williamsburg, VA – Elece Elizabeth Scott, a beloved member of the Williamsburg community, passed away on September 18, 2025, at the age of 95. Her contributions to the community and her family legacy will be fondly remembered by those who were fortunate to know her.

Born in Fredericksburg, Virginia, Elece was the daughter of Rebecca R. Davidson and Jewell N. Davidson, who was her step-father. Following her early education, Elece attended Murray State University, where she cultivated her lifelong passion for learning. In 1967, she married Beverly (Bev) Hester Scott of Franklin, Virginia. The couple settled in Warrenton, Virginia, where they welcomed their four children into the world. Approximately 40 years ago, Elece and Bev moved to Williamsburg, where they became active members of the community.

Throughout her career, Elece was employed by the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation for over 30 years and retired in 2023. Her dedication to Colonial Williamsburg showcased her commitment to preserving the rich history and culture of the area. Known for her deep love of Williamsburg, Elece actively participated in community events and engaged with local residents, enhancing the fabric of the town she cherished.

Elece is survived by her four children: Angela Scott Wallander (Bill), Christian Hunter Scott, Beverly (Chip) Hester Scott II (Stefanie), and Raleigh Clay Scott. She took great pride in her family, which also includes two granddaughters, Dee Wallander Rindt and Becky Scott Schultz, as well as three grandsons, Wesley Scott, Willem Scott, and Wyatt Scott. Additionally, Elece was a devoted great-grandmother to four great-grandchildren, whom she adored.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bev Scott, who shared her life for many years. Elece is also survived by her sister, Dixie D. Wolf of Williamsburg, and brother, Donald J. Davidson of Richmond, Virginia. Her family and friends will remember her for her warmth, kindness, and unwavering support.

A visitation is scheduled to take place at Bucktrout Funeral Home on Monday, September 29th, at 10:00 am. Following the visitation, a graveside service will be held at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Williamsburg at 11:30 am. Friends and family are invited to pay their respects and celebrate Elece’s remarkable life.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Elece’s name to Colonial Williamsburg, honoring her legacy and love for the historical community she cherished. Elece Elizabeth Scott will be remembered as a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend, whose impact on Williamsburg will resonate for generations to come.
