Music director Michael Butterman has carefully curated a program to mark the 250th anniversary of the United States, featuring a diverse selection of concerts scheduled to run through May.
This season will include eight concerts showcasing a range of musical works and prominent guest artists. Featured talent will include acclaimed pianist Natasha Paremski, renowned conductor Morihiko Nakahara, vocalists Alli Mauzey and Nicole Parker, violinist Amaryn Olmeda, and the Sandbox Percussion Quartet.
The orchestral repertoire for the upcoming season includes celebrated pieces such as Prokofiev’s Suite from “Romeo and Juliet,” Mendelssohn’s “Restoration Symphony,” and Respighi’s “Ancient Airs and Dances.” Additionally, the program will present works from composers such as Hanson, Dawson, Schuman, Mussorgsky, Sibelius, and Debussy.
The opening concert, a themed performance entitled “Prokofiev: Passion & Power”, will prominently feature works by Sergei Prokofiev and is set for September 23.
