The Saturday, July 12 schedule includes longer hours for many venues, with Billsburg Brewery open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Yorktown Market Days operating from 8 a.m. to noon. Other notable participants on Saturday include Sly Clyde Ciderworks, Frothy Moon Brewhouse, and Tradition Brewing, all offering food from noon into the evening. Copper Fox Distillery also welcomes food trucks from noon to 6 p.m.

Sunday, July 13, rounds out the event with Second Sundays taking place in Williamsburg from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Billsburg Brewery and Frothy Moon Brewhouse will again serve the community, along with The Garage Brewery in Chesapeake, Sly Clyde Ciderworks, Gloucester Brewing Company, and Virginia Beer Company, which will offer service until 9 p.m. The Old Page Grounds in Gloucester will also host food trucks, operating from 1 to 5 p.m.

A standout among the food trucks participating in this event is Amma’s Curry in a Hurry, an exciting new addition that focuses on Indian cuisine. This food truck is a venture by the owners of Spice Palace restaurant, a well-established location serving Indian food since 2017. The food truck offers a menu featuring various combo options that include a main curry, choice of protein, rice, naan, salad, vegetable curry, and dessert. Popular dishes from this new food truck include Butter Masala, Korma, and a vegan option called Mango Curry.

Amma’s Curry in a Hurry not only participates in this food truck roundup but also plans to operate across Hampton Roads, with upcoming events at venues like Second Sundays, Alewerks, and The Virginia Beer Company.

Operating a food truck in the Historic Triangle requires adherence to specific guidelines and permits, which vary by locality. In James City County, a mobile food vending permit is necessary, along with health and safety inspections. York County mandates a business license and health permit but does not require fire department inspections. In Williamsburg, food trucks must obtain health permits and business licenses, as well as separate approvals from property owners at each location. Additionally, changes to food truck policies are currently under consideration in Williamsburg to ease operational restrictions.

Food trucks typically also have to maintain a distance of at least 100 feet from existing restaurants and residences. This helps to ensure a harmonious coexistence between food trucks and the established dining landscape of the Historic Triangle.

This food truck roundup not only celebrates local culinary talent but also enhances community engagement through shared dining experiences. Residents and visitors are encouraged to enjoy this diverse range of food throughout the weekend.
