Her musical talents were evident from a young age; she was proficient in playing the piano and handbells, often performing with grace and passion. Throughout her life, Donna was deeply involved in local music organizations and initiatives.

Donna served on the board of directors for several important musical institutions such as the Williamsburg Youth Orchestra, the Early Childhood Music School, and the Williamsburg Symphony Orchestra League. Her leadership was instrumental in the management of the annual Christmas Messiah concert at the Williamsburg United Methodist Church, a highlight in the local festive calendar, which she organized for many years.

In her role as President of the Williamsburg Music Club, Donna was dedicated to nurturing young musicians. She established scholarships specifically for graduating high school seniors, fostering the next generation of talent in her community. Her contributions extended far beyond music; she was a light in the lives of many, known for her kindness and desire to uplift those around her.

A celebration of Donna’s remarkable life will occur on Saturday, June 21, 2025. The event begins with a musical prelude at 1:30 PM, followed by the service at 2:00 PM. It will be held at the Williamsburg United Methodist Church, located at 500 Jamestown Road, Williamsburg, VA 23185.

In memory of Donna Herman, gifts can be directed to the endowment fund of the Early Childhood Music School at Williamsburg United Methodist Church, ensuring that her legacy of kindness, service, and music endures in the hearts of future generations.
